He Is With Us | Psalm 102

When we are navigating through trials in our lives, it can be very easy for us to think that God is indifferent to what is going on. However, as we read in Psalm 102, the Lord hears us when we are praying through our storms, and he is an unchanging, ever-present God.

“He will listen to the prayers of the destitute. He will not reject their pleas.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭102:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The psalmist tells us that when we are in desperate need and beg God, he will always hear us and intercede on our behalf. Whenever we are lacking something for which we are in need, God is big enough – and eager – to come through for us.

“Let this be recorded for future generations, so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭102:18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As we focus on praise during this season at Calvary, we should look at this verse and recognize the emphasis that the psalmist is placing on this topic. They thought praising God to be so critical that they wanted to be sure that all who come after them, which of course includes all of us, praises God all of the time. We all have something to praise Him for, and He is worthy of all praise for things big and small.

“But you are always the same; you will live forever. The children of your people will live in security. Their children’s children will thrive in your presence.””
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭102:27-28‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8). We can have peace and confidence that not only will God be with us, but He will also be with those of all who come after us. What a promise!

God is interested and involved in every detail of our lives. Whenever we have a need that arises, or a situation that beckons us to praise Him, we can be fully confident that He will never fail nor abandon us (Hebrews 13:5).

What needs do you need to plead with God to meet? Do you truly believe that He will come through for you? What can you praise God for today?
